How To Transfer Putty Configuration

Today I like write a post about how to transfer putty configuration from one machine to other. It is very very easy. If you have configured “on defualts” when you save a new connection the metadata for this connection is saved into the regedit.

You can see all information using the regedit, and perform drill down up to;

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham

And you can save all it into a file by using the next command;

regedit /e "MyPuttyConf.reg" HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham

In the new machine, you only make double click on the file and push accept.
