How To Deinstall Grid Infrastructe Software

Often we need uninstall Oracle software. In the old days, to remove the engine had to do it manually by deleting files or directories, and in cases like the Microsoft Windows edit the Regedit and delete the corresponding entries, was always good idea to make a copy of  Regedit before touching it.

Since most modern versions, such as 11g or 12c, has been greatly simplified these processes, there are indeed specific scripts to perform these tasks (it is Perl). In particular we can find in the $ ORACLE_HOME (if the basis for a database, or if ORACLE_GRID for a Grid infrastructure) deinstall directory within this directory and the deinstall file (Unix / Linux) or deinstall.bat (in the case of Microsoft Windows).

If we see an example in Windows;

desinstall_foto_1

Double-clicking on deinstall file execute the following;

desinstall_foto2

We give several outlets across the screen until you reach a point where we request the following scripts running on node1 and node 2;

EXECUTE IN NODO1

C:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\perl\bin\perl -IC:\Windows\Temp

\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\perl\lib -IC:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-

14_04-11-15PM\crs\install -IC:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\per

l\bin C:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\crs\install\rootcrs.pl -f

orce  -deconfig -paramfile “C:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\res

ponse\deinstall_OraCrs11g_home1.rsp”

EXECUTE IN NODE2

C:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\perl\bin\perl -IC:\Windows\Temp

\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\perl\lib -IC:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-

14_04-11-15PM\crs\install -IC:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\per

l\bin C:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\crs\install\rootcrs.pl -f

orce  -deconfig -paramfile “C:\Windows\Temp\2\deinstall2014-10-14_04-11-15PM\res

ponse\deinstall_OraCrs11g_home1.rsp” -lastnode

After execute on each node these script must to push intro bottom in the first screen, where it has been waiting for terminate the scripts, from here erase files, folders and entries in Regedit. That’s all folks.
